oh my, what's this?...

well, i think we've hit upon something (thanks everyone!)... i've prayed, researched, talked to everyone under the sun, read articles, etc. on how to get ruby to stay sleeping once she gets there at night/wee hours of the morning... i'd heard everything from: giving her warm milk & turkey at bedtime to punishing her everytime she wakes up & EVERYTHING in between... we took all the opinions that were offered (thanks everyone) & have tried some... we'd a huge number of people recommend having her go to bed earlier, rather than later... she usually goes down at 8-8:15pm, so now (when we're home) she's in bed between 7:30-7:45pm... since all 3 bear cubs go to sleep in separate beds (karleigh in her bed, ruby in brit's bed & kiara in our bed) & then once they fall asleep, we move them into their own bed, ruby never realizes that she's the only one going to bed 'early'... another thing that we've been told by many, many, many deaf people's that to them, having a night light burning in their room's a hindrance as it keeps them awake or wakes them when they're in a lite sleep... the girls do have a very dim night light in their room, way up high on a shelf, but i did that more for ruby than the other 2 as i thought when she'd wake up & not hear anything (she doesn't wear her CI to bed), that a little dim light in there would help her not to be afraid - guess i was making it worse!...

so ------------ with ruby going down 30 minutes before the other 2 & turning off the night light permanently (drum roll please.....), i'm happy to announce that we've completed 4 (yes, FOUR) nights sleep without her waking up at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD ON HIGH!!!... not sure if this' a 'fix all', but for now, this sleepy mommy's doin' the happy dance!!!... thanks for all the suggestions (i've kept them all) & we'll keep you posted on how things are going over the next lil' bit... again, thank you all
